About
IN SEPTEMBER 2017,
At the start of his 7th grade year, he fell in gym class. To rule out a concussion, a routine CT scan was done which incidentally found a massive terminal brain tumor. He underwent surgery, followed by chemotherapy and radiation therapy. Despite all efforts, his tumor continued to grow aggressively and he passed away on 8/8/2018, surrounded by his family and loved ones.
Throughout the 11-month ordeal, Rayan maintained his positive outlook, love of life, humor and kindness. He did not let this diagnosis interfere with him living his life to the best of his ability. No matter what he was going through, he never complained. His goal was trying to make his family smile with jokes and making up parodies to pop songs. He left a lasting impression on everyone he met. He was a great son, brother, cousin, and friend to all that knew him. His radiant smile was captivating and positive attitude was contagious.
It was also very important to him to make children smile and laugh. He believed in giving back to kids in need to help make their lives better. Two months prior to his passing, he was able to collect over $2000 in two days to provide toys for underprivileged kids in his community. He was able to personally hand out toys to about 40 kids. Rayan’s legacy of love, laughter, and generosity will continue on with Rayan’s Crayons, a nonprofit organization dedicated in his name. We will “never give up on gifting a smile."
